In Madrid, you will always find different plans, you already know this but, in case you are visiting the city for a few days or you are spending all your holiday here, we recommend you to spend a whole day enjoying the fresh natural water pools in the Community of Madrid, which are in perfect conditions.

Very close to Madrid and perfectly connected, you can refresh yourself in wild nature, in Madrid.

Also, you will enjoy the most beautiful views of Madrid: Peñalara Peak. In addition to taking a refreshing swim , you can stroll along the river entering the wild nature. It’s a perfect plan to go alone, with your family or your beloved ones. Free entry, parking costs 5€ and everything is extremely clean.

Las Dehesas: in Cercedilla you can enjoy an unexpected day in its fresh water pools. This place is located in the Valley of Fuenfría, next to the Roman Road ruins. Founded back in 1978, these pools are called “natural” fresh pools because the water belonged to the river stream. However, later on and because of a drought, water needed to be treated but, in any case, you can enjoy this fresh water pools in this beautiful surroundings and with warm temperatures. You have more than 750 square meters to forget about all your problems during one day.

The Pantano (Swamp) de San Juan, also known as The Beach of Madrid. Next to Madrid, in san Martín de Valdeiglesias you will find the sole swamp of the Region where swimming is allowed. 14 kilometers for swimming and practicing water sports.

– Navaluenga: now we leave the Community of Madrid, not very far, we promise it’s worth it: we visit Navaluenga (province of Ávila). The river Alberche gives birth to these fresh water pools in Sierra de Gredos. Why are these so important? Because of its size: so big that you can practice canoeing. Also, the premises are perfect: you will find changing rooms, perfect lawns for resting and relaxing…

– Bolarque Lake: Also in Madrid surroundings but just the opposite way, in Guadalajara, you will find this refreshing place next to Tajo and Guadiela rivers. This place is also known as the Castillian Sea (remember, Castille has no sea!) You will find a free parking, nice restaurants and places to enjoy your picnic: all this for just 6€
