Arqueología para niños en Alcalá de Henares
Archeology is the best to know the origins of our civilization, which took place hundred and thousand of years ago. For children, knowing our history firsthand is one of the most interesting activities that can be enjoyed during the summer. This is a playful activity but also helps them learning things regarding our ancestors. In order to encouraging archeology among the youngest ones, the Community of Madrid government together with the City Council of Alcalá de Henares celebrate, again this summer, the activity known as “Archaeologists for a day”.
La Dirección general de Patrimonio Cultural permite de forma gratuita una actividad única para participar en la extracción e identificación de los restos arqueológicos en la Casa de los Grifos de Alcalá de Henares. Dos horas y media de actividad de padres con sus hijos para conocer la autenticidad de una localidad más que especial y es que, Alcalá de Henares, tiene mucho mucho que ofrecer.
The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Community of Madrid presents a free activity to participate in the extraction and identification of the archaeological remains located in the Casa de los Grifos in Alcalá de Henares. This activity lasts two hours and a half so children, together with their parents, can get to know the authenticity of a very special city, this is, Alcalá de Henares.

This activities is addressed for children between 8 and 14 years old, always accompanied by adults, who will enjoy a complete archeological process: location, extraction, identification and delivery of materials to a museum. This is a joint work between adults and children in order to getting to know the archaeological discipline in depth.
This activity / visit starts with a 30 minute visit to the deposit and Casa de los Grifos, built two thousand years ago and was in use until the middle of the 4th Century. This is a unique opportunity to know this building since normally is not open to visits.
Undoubtedly, this is a great opportunity to enjoy this summer while knowing the history of our region.
