Las uvas 2017 en la Puerta del Sol de Madrid

In just four days we will be saying good-bye to 2017 and giving, of simultaneously, the welcome to 2018 and it is when already we correct in the calendar on December 27 it means that the 31 it is just around of the corner. It means that we must prepare the end of the year dinner and above all, because for us the Spanish cannot be absent, the 12 grapes with which at the stroke of a bell, we will say hello to a new year.

A new year full of enthusiasm, of projects to be carried out, of objectives to be achieved … Without a doubt, 2018 will be a great year. But for that to come, before we have to eat the 12 grapes, one by one without choking and without leaving a single one.

In Spain we have many traditions for that night and one of them is for those who are in Madrid, eating the grapes in the more than famous Puerta del Sol. A tradition that lately and for more than logical reasons of security, not everyone can enjoy . Today the city of Madrid has made public and has shared the particularities of this year for the aforementioned night and also for the previous one. And is that on December 30 some or many warm up engines with the trial of grapes or as you know … the preludes.

The grapes of 2017 at the Puerta de Sol:

• The security is very high these two nights around the Puerta del Sol. It is for all of us. It makes the job easier for the police. Do not put obstacles, collaborate.
• Take few things, avoid backpacks and bulky bags.
• Do not carry glass. It is prohibited and may cause incidents.
• The capacity is limited and it is not by whim but to ensure a proper evacuation if necessary.
• Go with time if not, you will not be able to pass and you will live a frustration one of the most important nights of the year.
• Be careful with alcohol. Always control.
• The streets enabled to enter and leave the Puerta del Sol are Calle Mayor, Arenal, Carrera de San Jerónimo and Alcalá.
