48 horas en Madrid
It’s officially summer, Madrid receive more tourists than usual, but with this heat is insatiable to be on the Street. What to do, to see and don’t die with these high temperatures ? We give you all the details so you can enjoy the city.
Saturday
After a restful night, we take advantage to start the day with a good breakfast buffet in the hotel until 10:30 am. We’ll move to the center to start the adventure of the museums. Madrid has a very wide cultural offer. We can find the permanent exhibitions os the most emblematic museums such as the Prado, The Reina Sofia or the Thyssen. However, we find other equally interesting ones such as the Sorolla House, the Mapfre Foundation or the Caixa Forum, among others.
When the appetite is coming, we should choose a good restaurant. If we are in the neighborhood of Chamberí, a good option is to drop by the Vallhermoso Market. If on the other hand we’re in the Barrio de las Letras and we want a traditional atmosphere, Taberna La Elisa is a great choice. If you are in the center, between Fuencarral y Malasaña, La Pajarita restaurant will be an amazing gastronomic experience.
After lunch, you’ll discover a empty Madrid for the heat and we recommend going back to the hotel to take a dip and cool off in the pool. Around 7:00 pm the sun has dropped and it’s a good time to go out and discover a Madrid full of shows: theaters, musical, concerts. Or you can go to the Templo de Debod and enjoy a beautiful summer sunset, and the get lost in Madrid de los Austrias.
For dinner, the offer is huge. Perra Chica, Habanera or Amazónico are some options for the night and the best place if you want drink some cocktails. But if you prefer enjoy live music, for example Jazz, Café Central is a success.
Sunday
A mythical plan, is to wander around the Rastro, and buy some relic. Although the best investment is a brunch. Martina Cocina, Ópalo or The Imparcial, no matter what you choose, you’ll be satisfied with anybody. If on the other hand you prefer tapas, the La Latina neighborhood Will not disappoint you.
Alternative plans: walk around El Retiro park, or The Castellana that is pedestrian in the morning. If you’ve pending purchases, Gran Via and Fuencarral have all theirs stores open.
To say goodbye to the capital, don’t miss taste an unforgettable snack at La Duquesita, Brasserie Antoinette or Donde Mónica. With all this you’ll only plan going back yo Madrid.
