Its celebrations will take place in the most central neighborhoods of Madrid. This year marks the fourth decade of Pride. The city fills these days with live music, outdoor parties, culture and sports, an authentic party.

The epicenter celebration is in Chueca’s neighborhood and from there it extends to other neighborhoods as central as Malasaña, Las Letras and Lavapiés. This event has a very emotional component this year and is that 40 years ago the first manifestation of the LGTBIQ + collective that took place in the streets of Madrid took place.

Although we’ve days of celebration, today July 4, officially begins the party in the Plaza de Pedro Zerolo with the masters of ceremonies, whose faces are public figures and part of the collective. Last year the WorldPride 2017 took place as one of the best LGTBIQ + destinations and we’d an arrival of 2 million people.

This year, 1 million visitors are expected to arrive in the capital. With this forecast the security device will host policemen, cleaning services and the Samur. The security plan includes the prohibition of the heavy vehicle traffic of more than 3,500 kilos during the parade. Neither will be able to park in the downtown neighborhoods of the city.

The subway closes later (2:30 am) on Saturday, July 7, on lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and Ramal. There will be more frequencies in Cercanías Renfe and buses in the periphery. The taxi stops will take place in Almagro street and another in the Plaza de España, next to the Templo de Debod.

The slogan will be the same as last year: “Love whom you love, Madrid loves you”.
